The Critical Role of Car Lamp Prototyping
Automotive lighting is no longer just a functional component; it is a key branding element and a vital safety feature. Prototyping is indispensable for: Optical Validation: Verifying light patterns, beam spread, and luminous intensity to ensure compliance with global safety standards (like DOT or ECE). Aesthetic Impact: Car lamps are the "eyes" of the vehicle. High-fidelity models allow designers to evaluate the crystal-clear transparency and the "depth" of the internal housing. Thermal Management: Testing how the housing and reflectors behave under the heat generated by high-power LEDs or HID bulbs.
Specialized Materials for Lighting
To replicate the optical properties of mass-produced lamps, we use premium materials: PMMA (Acrylic): Used for Outer Lenses due to its superior light transmission (92%) and UV resistance. PC (Polycarbonate): Selected for Inner Lenses and Light Guides that require higher heat resistance and impact strength. Thermally Conductive Plastics/Aluminum: Used for heat sinks within the LED modules. High-Heat ABS/PC-ABS: For the internal decorative bezels and rear housings.

Key Manufacturing Processes
Creating a realistic car lamp requires a combination of high-tech machining and artisanal finishing:
Multi-Axis CNC Milling: Precision machining of the complex, diamond-like facets on reflectors and the thick-walled optics of light guides.
Diamond Turning: Achieving an optical-grade surface finish directly on the machine to minimize the need for heavy polishing.
Vapor Polishing & Hand Polishing: Specialized techniques to transform machined PMMA/PC into a water-clear, transparent state without distorting the optical path.
Vacuum Metallization (PVD): Applying a mirror-like chrome finish to reflectors to ensure maximum light throw.
Multi-Color Injection/Casting: For prototypes requiring integrated red, amber, and clear sections in a single lens.
Technical Precision & Surface Quality
Optical Clarity: We achieve near-zero haze and maximum transparency through rigorous multi-stage polishing.
Dimensional Accuracy: Maintaining 卤0.05mm tolerances to ensure the lamp assembly fits perfectly into the car body's "tight" gaps.
Reflector Quality: Achieving a mirror finish ($Ra < 0.05 mu m$) on internal reflective surfaces to ensure accurate light distribution.
